What is Yoga?

The intrinsic purpose of yoga is to bring about perfection in man in his daily life with enlightenment of his consciousness, in a manner suited for all ages and all sections of people. It is not restricted either to meditation or physical exercise or pranayama or introspection. All these practices are to bring the mind and body to a healthy condition and to streamline the mind and regulate the deeds for the elevation and sublimation of the human personality. The true and complete meaning of yoga is a systematized method of purposeful and virtuous living, with morality, duty, and charity, and the constant awareness of self-realization.
