Introspection is a divine journey towards purification of mind. The Atman (Soul) performs various acts under the influence of the five senses. Until acting according to the cause and effect system becomes our nature, the acts of the Atman result mostly in suffering. Pain is an unnatural feeling. Till such a time when knowledge is gained and awareness dawns, the Atman can only follow the habitual tendencies. So pains and miseries tend to increase and abound. Introspection is a sure method to retrieve the self by ourselves from such a situation.
Introspection is an exercise for the mind, whereby a person attempts to analyze about the self, the static and functioning states of the self, the thoughts and actions emanating from within and realises the good and the bad, removes the shortcomings and attains benefits. Introspection elevates the consciousness to a higher plane and nourishes the lives of human beings.
By accepting a responsibility and performing your job, you are paying the debt to the society which has brought you up and provides for your livelihood. Making children excel in virtue and education is also a duty in service to the society. If you bring up a child as a good human and distinguished person in education, means you are helping the society by giving a good citizen to it. If you relinquish you duties and run away, where will you go? What will you do for the next meals? Won't you go begging. Is it not a burden on the society?
