Unified Force (A Comprehensive Philosophy of Nature for laymen and scientists ) by Vethathiri Maharishi

Introduction

Once Bertrand Russell was giving a lecture on Cosmology. He was explaining with figures and illustrations the various theories of the birth and evolution of the universe. An old lady in the audience interrupted Russell and remarked, "There is a Cosmological theory very much simpler than what you have been trying to explain with all these complicated diagrams and equations". On being asked to explain, she went on, "We have read in our epics and scriptures that the whole universe is supported by a number of tortoises piled one upon another". On hearing this, Russell laughed and remarked, "It is primitive and cannot explain all the recent experimental observations". Undaunted by this remark, she asked Russell, "Can your theory explain all the experimental observations?" Then Russell realized every theory is in a sense primitive and cannot explain all the experimental observations. The lesson to be learned from this is that however recent and fine a theory may be, it cannot be the final one. There is always room for further improvement, since no theory has ever spoken the last word.

Newton's Model

It was Newton who first showed that the properties of Nature can be described through mathematical formulae. The mathematical structure developed by Newton is based on four independent quantities--i.e. space, time, matter and energy. It is significant that even today the description of Nature is given only through these four quantities. Newton was so impressed by the events in the functional universe that he was completely lost in its dynamics. His concepts of space, time, matter and energy gave him a model which described Nature, especially at macrolevel, with amazing accuracy. However, his model failed miserably in the atomic scale.

The greatest success of his mathematical model is the discovery of the gravitational force. Newton visualized the gravitational force as a force existing between any two material particles by virtue of their masses. The absence of a gravitational repulsive force was a great puzzle to Newton. Since one talks of attractive and repulsive forces in the case of electric charges and magnetic poles, Newton always wondered at the absence of a gravitational repulsive force. Such puzzles and wonders made him realize the limitations of his model. This is clearly seen when he said, "I am like a child playing on the shore with pebbles and shells while the whole ocean lies before me". In retrospect, one can observe yet another severe restriction on Newton's model. While Newton was concerned with findings the causes for the events occurring in the functional universe, his model did not deal with the grand cause for the genesis of the functional universe.

Einstein's Model

A careful study of the limitations in Newton's model made Einstein introduce certain significant refinements in the concepts of space, time, matter and energy. Based on his refined concepts, Einstein built a new model. He had shown that space, time, matter and energy are no longer independent quantities, but one can be converted into the other. The "absoluteness" of Newton was replaced by the "relativeness" of Einstein. Because of these refinements Einstein could get a better and broader perspective than Newton. This is clearly seen in his concept of gravitational force which is drastically different from Newton's concept. According to Einstein, gravitational force arises not out of the interaction between two masses but out of the interaction between mass and the surrounding space. Thus, Einstein elevated space-time from a passive role to a very active role. Einstein developed a set of equations to govern the interaction between the mass and its surrounding space-time structure. The equations formed a basis for his general theory of relativity. If Newton's formula f=ma is one major landmark in the history of Science, Einstein's concept of the interaction between the mass and the surrounding time-space structure gave him a much wider perspective than Newton. For example, Einstein's theory predicted the perihelion of Mercury with perfect accuracy which Newton's gravitational theory could not.

The success of Einstein's field equations prompted him to tackle certain cosmological questions like, "Does the universe possess a limit?" "How did this universe come into being? "Is there a Unified Force from which all the presently known forces could be derived?"

Prior to Einstein, scientists were of the view that the universe as a whole was incomprehensible and hence questions like the above could not be tackled by mathematical models. However, by using his field equations Einstein got some partial answers to some of the above questions. This limited success of Einstein was a breakthrough in the field of cosmology and it opened up avenues for many cosmological theories. Emboldened by his limited success, Einstein remarked, "the most incomprehensive thing about the universe is that it is comprehensive".

The success of his theory here and there did not make Einstein heady or blind. While he was happy over his success, he was equally concerned with the limitations of his model. The absence of gravitational repulsion which puzzled Newton continued to puzzle Einstein. At one point in time, Einstein felt the necessity to introduce the gravitational repulsion and did not have sufficient basis to support it. Hence, he withdrew it hurriedly from his subsequent theories. Another aspect which kept Einstein worrying throughout his life was the concept of Unified Force. Einstein's attempt to understand Unified Force within the framework of the functional universe did not succeed. Though on the surface of it Einstein's theory yielded some positive results, at the core Einstein himself realized that the theory was not that sound. This realization made Einstein remark, "In my field equations, the left hand side is of fine marble but the right hand side is of perishable wood". (Perhaps the time has come to replace the perishable wood.)

Einstein's theory should be considered as a refinement over Newton's theory. Einstein's theory is built on the merits and demerits of Newton's theory. When questioned whether he had proved Newton Wrong, Einstein's reply was "....No, if I have seen anything new that is because I see the world standing on the shoulders of Newton".

Einstein intuitively felt that in the cosmological ladder of discovery we are standing on the lower rungs. Finer theories are yet to come and they should come. This is clearly seen in his famous statement, "When I compare all our theories to the mighty Reality, they are all trash. However they are the most precious ones we have today".

Einstein took Newton further: Now we need someone to take Einstein further.

Vethathiri's Model

It is Nature's nature to reveal its secrets only to a select few spread over centuries and around the world. These few chosen and gifted individuals set new trends which the majority study and investigate. The selection of these individuals by Nature is the result of an opportune moment which finds its outlet in these chosen few. Such individuals have a special power to attune their minds to be in unison with the cosmos and while in that unison, revelation comes to them.

In ancient days, when science was not developed, the revelators were generally called philosophers. But in the modern scientific era, such chosen individuals could simultaneously be philosophers and scientists. It is our firm view that Yogiraj Vethathiri Maharishi of the World Community Service Centre is one such chosen individual. By revelation, he not only lives in bliss, but tries to lift the broad masses of the population to his level.

Vethathiri's philosophy is an all-embracing super-theory. In Vethathiri's Model, space is accorded a supreme position and paramount importance. It is precisely because of this, that this model is able to visualize the secrets of Nature which other models could not. No doubt, Einstein talks of space in his General Theory of Relativity, but he was so concerned with the functional universe that he did not accord space its due place.

Since Vethathiri's model is based on the properties of the Static-Silent State, its canvas is extremely vast. While on one hand it deals with cosmology, on the other hand it deals with the most fundamental particle--primary energy particle. Its broad sweep encompasses not only the all-pervading universal magnetism but also the bio-magnetism functioning in living beings. Its canvas is vast enough to include not only the consciousness of the human mind, but also its link with the total consciousness for self-realization. It is our earnest hope that Vethathiri's Model is a theory for the 21 st Century-a theory with intuitive science and profound philosophy. This model reminds us of the famous saying of Einstein, "Science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind".

We are happy and honored to associate ourselves with this great soul--the author of this work, Yogiraj Vethathiri Maharishi.

Foreword

Every human being is a part of Nature, fully equipped with all potentials physically and mentally to realize the purpose of his being. One is born and then grows, perceives the beauties and mysteries of the universe, enjoys, suffers and dies. Between these two nodes of birth and death, man experiences pain, pleasure, peace, satisfaction and ecstasy in life. The accumulated storehouse of experiences constitutes culture, which is carried over generation to generation from the primitive age to the present. When this accumulated knowledge and hence the awareness increases further and further, a time comes when the mind desires to know its origin, capability and the ultimate goal. This desire is the cause for all exploration.

Material science is a part of this exploration. For a standard of truthfulness and for unambinguity, science has been formulated in the language of mathematics with certain basic prin ciples. One main principle is that the laws of Nature must be first empirically proven for acceptance by the scientific community. To be deemed valid or true, a fact or phenomenon must be perceptible to senses and expressible in terms of time, force, volume and distance. This principle is not only the strength of science but also its weakness. This principle is generally useful and protective, but it severely restricts the scope of science. It is due to this restriction that the present day science has many dead-ends. For example, it is not able to decide whether the electron is a wave or a particle. Today, the three main subjective phenomena :

1. the primordial Unified Force,

2. the infinitesimal fundamental energy particle and

3. Mind, which is the consciousness working through the bio-magnetic wave,

lie clearly outside the scope to science. But unless and until the power, the qualities, the functions and the results of these three invisible subjective phenomena are understood and such understandings are incorporated into science, no branch of science will be fulfilled to the perfection and to the optimum benefit. It is to this aspect that this book addresses itself.

What is the way to handle the above three subjective phenomena? No instrument or machine will be useful for this purpose. Only when the mind is brought to its zero point with awareness by reducing its mental frequencies, there it will realize every secret of consciousness, because all functions of Nature are waves starting from this zero, the primordial state, compressed and stored in consciousness.

Though at the perception level we distinguish matter into solids, liquids and gases, truthfully speaking they are all different collections of whirling wave-particles, each with speedy rotational force. Even though such infinitesimal particles are hollow in nature, they spin so fast in rotation that our vision is obstructed and reflected only if the intensity of the particle association is sufficient. A quantum of reflection of light from the associated group makes one to perceive the appearance as solid.

Let us consider the first two subjective phenomena: One is the primordial static-silent state, the non-moving Eternal Space; the other is the whirling wave particles which emerged from the Static State due to its self-compressive force. Every energy particle is nothing but a wave, a tiny portion of space in rotation. Thus, everything we know or perceive is the significance of a wave. The origin of wave is the Plenum: Zero force, static-silent state, the Eternal Space. The Eternal Space is invisible and unperceivable and so also is an energy particle because of its minuteness and fast self rotational movement. These particles can never be located or perceived accurately. Even with the most powerful microscopes, the sight of this tiny particle is lost because by magnifying the particle it becomes one with space, as it actually is space in motion.

Mind is the third invisible subjective phenomenon. Due to the friction between the primary whirling wave-particle and the surrounding space, innumerable tiny waves are constantly generated from the space. When these secondary waves merge with the space, the result is universal magnetism. Universal magnetism gets transformed among and within associated masses as pressure, sound, light, taste and smell in all inanimate forms. The same magnetism in an organism, in addition to the five kinds of transformation described above, becomes mind with feeling and perceptional ability.

Without a consideration and a comprehension of these three essential phenomena, no Science or Philosophy can ever be complete. For this reason, there are dead-end in every field of science. For example, in the science of physics, gravitational force is not yet understood to the root. Likewise, the nature and the evolutionary process of the fundamental particles are still elusive because of the lack of proper comprehension of the power and the qualities of the Eternal Space. In the filed of biology, the main difference between inorganic matter and an organism with physical structure to feel pain and pleasure is not yet explained. Where and at what point living beings evolved from inorganic matter is not realized, because the existence and functions and results of the mind are not known. In the science of psychology the central phenomenon, mind, is still an area of conjecture. Without a complete knowledge of mind how can one know about perception, feelings, and how to rationalize and moralize their living process? The emergence and functions of light, sound, taste, smell and mind are not known yet because the evolution of magnetism and its force and nature are not understood. In this treatise, I have addressed myself to the above concepts with the help of the understandings I got through my revelations.

Furthermore., science talks of the Unified Force, but in a limited sense. Science is yet to realize the all-pervading, divine character of the Unified Force : consciousness. If anyone realizes the Unified Force as God, he should realize its duality is consciousness, the order of function throughout the universe; and this is the Mind of God. The radical quality of Unified Force is gravitational force, i.e. self compressive surrounding pressure force. The gravitational repulsion is whirling wave, the infinitesimal energy particle. Reflection from the repulsion is the "shadow-wave -particle"-- magnetism. In its process of conversion, magnetism becomes pressure, sound, light, taste, smell and mind. We may assume the Unified Force to be the Static-Silent State; its dynamic state is repulsion, and all reflections of repulsion-- the magnetic waves and their transformations from pressure to mind. So all dynamic states are also part and parcel of Unified Force-- these dynamic aspects are the mind of God, the consciousness intrinsic in Unified Force. In the past few centuries science has come a long way and grown to greater and greater heights. But it is my inner conviction that only when science comes forward to accept Eternal Space, static and silent, as Unified Force and its divine charcter-consciousness-as the mind of God (signified as magnetic wave with all its transformations) that the dead-end in the fields of physics, biology, psychology, genetics and sociology can be cleared. My sincere motive and service in bringing this treatise is only to make the thinkers and elite of humanity aware of the supreme principle Unified Force, God-and its divine character, consciousness, the order of function throughout the universe.

It is gratifying to note that the limitations of the present day science are slowly being felt and the necessity for looking beyond the functional universe is also emerging. The statement of Arthur Eddington, "The ultimate cause of a material particle is the mind stuff' and the statement of the cosmologist, John Wheeler: "An elementary particle is an excitation of Space" are indicative of this trend. It is my earnest hope that this book will accelerate the process of science, recognizing and assimilating the intuitive insights of the Static State presented herein for its further growth.

I know that my expositions are unempirical and many readers may hesitate to accept them as established truth. This hesitation is understandable because it is the case with every generation. Don't take this treatise and try to fit it into the narrow corridors of science; but rather take it as a philosophy, if necessary under an "uncertainty principle" and use it to widen the corridors of science. If you find this material fit and useful, then it can be accepted. No one in the world truly knows his own mother or father by empirical experience, but every person undoubtedly accepts two particular people in the relationship of parents! This may be such an `uncertainty principle'. No amount of calculation will establish beyond doubt the identities of one's parents! The same way, we can accept certain theories even though they are unprovable by experiment, or until proven or disproves by experiment. To proceed with our research and investigation with such provisional acceptance of unempirical ideas will not deter our purpose of discovery of truth.

A band of scientists and academicians in India have already begun such investigations and they are at it. I understand from them that such investigations do yield certain new results. For example, when the gravitational repulsive force due to the whirling motion of the primary energy particle is taken into account the age of the universe turns out to be far less than that predicted by the current Big Bang model, and the new model, which they call Vethathiri model, leads to certain further results and statements which the current Big Bang model could not predict. If any research scholar or scientist wishes to discuss any aspect of my theory presented herein he or she is welcome to meet or write to me personally. This treatise is an open book for a reader with an open mind.

I was fortunate to have an inclination towards spiritual life and a thirst for the truth. By following a virtuous way of life and practicing a special type of meditation focusing mind on its own wave, I have often attained a super-active, transcendental state. One after the other, many secrets of Nature have been revealed and realized over my lifetime. Any philosophic or natural truth is revealed by Nature only to be presented to humanity for its greater benefit. According to this concept, I herewith am presenting my knowledge of the universe revealed to my inner vision for the people of the world community as a repayment due for having enjoyed all the benefits from the society.

In bringing out this book, the Committee on the Theory of Unified Force and Animation (CUFA) under the presidentship of Prof. K. Arumugam deserves special mention; they have put in hardwork and discussed all the points herein to their fullest satisfaction. I am thankful to all members of the CUFA Committee. Mr. Thomas Fitzgerald of U.S.A. came to me at the Temple of Consciousness in South India to assist in the editing of the language to suit international standards. I express my gratitude to him for his efforts taken. I am also thankful to Mrs. Adele Fitzgerald, Ms. Uma and Ms. Sakuntala for their help in editing and typing the manuscript.

Conclusion

Dear friends, research scholars, scientists and philosophers, T wish all of you a happy, prosperous and blissful life. You have completed the reading of this book, Unified Force. Whoever you may be and whatever capacity and status you have, I have understood your noble inclination in the study of Nature; with such a quality you are serving mankind in all possible ways. I respect you for the knowledge you have developed in social and spiritual fields.

Today's nuclear weapons are many times more powerful than those that destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Nature is a basic principle, beautifully performing its wondrous functions and results in all beings of the world and of the entire universe. Although man is graced with the gift of great potential to understand and enjoy the results of Nature, he can only observe, manipulate and enjoy the results of Nature; he can never substitute or replace Nature. Each human being is a part of Nature, restricted in force and consciousness of mind and body up to a limit. Because of his innate urge and potential, man tries to understand the Nature from which he evolved. Through this divine motive came philosophy and science throughout the ages.

At the present stage in the development of consciousness the scientist has come to a dead-end, where empirical methods cannot be fruitful and a philosophical input is needed; at the same time, the philosopher has become dumb as whatever is realized by revelation cannot be expressed in words Thus, both science and philosophy are stagnated, unable to advance towards the ideal of full discovery of Nature's origin and laws. In this stagnation of the quest for knowledge mankind's search diverges to pursue wrong or negative ends. The consequential result of modern science's method and approach has been to bring mankind to the attitude of reductionism, distorting individuals from ideals of brotherhood and community welfare to selfishness and unethical conduct. Unemployment, war and exploitation are the obvious proof all over the world. Science has come to a standstill in the progress of helping mankind; if this situation continues, only destruction of men and resources can be the result.

The dead ends and dilemmas of religious philosophy are even more obvious than in science; the contemporary period is almost given over to superstitious imagination. How can humanity arrive at lasting peace and happiness in life?

Philosophy of Nature and Science are the two eyes for mankind to live by. Due to imperfect development and improper' implementation both eyes are now affected by cataracts. What is the solution? By the love and compassion of sincere humanitarians and leaders, the desire for clear vision is getting stronger and stronger.

For every problem there is a right solution; it is a natural law. To solve the present problems of humanity, the dead-end in philosophy and science should be cleared. It is not difficult. Mankind is moved in every direction and at every stage only by the divine functions of mind. The values and great potentials of mind should be realized by everyone. The ego of man is to be submerged in the reality of truth, in acknowledgement of its incalculable power. Then the mind will work in unison with the force and consciousness of Nature. The interference of ego in pursuit of scientific knowledge takes mankind to reductionism, and ego in philosophy of Nature keeps mankind in darkness. All the obstructions in life will be removed when the existence, functions and results of the divine principle, mind, are realized as it is the ultimate manifestation of Unified Force. Mind and consciousness are not separate. As vapor (steam) is to water, mind is to consciousness. When mind is fully realized, so also is consciousness with all its innate potential and its evolutionary stages.

From Eternal Space-- the Unified Force - energy particles evolved: one is the primary particle, which by association makes all kinds of physical forms; its offspring is the shadow-wave particle which becomes magnetism, transforming into pressure, sound, light, taste, smell and mind. thus mind is the culmination of evolution and the last frontier of science and philosophy. The Eternal Space - Unified Force - is the beginning point of every thing in the universe and the same Unified Force is connecting the whole universe as an invisible thread in and around all manifestations, encompassing and invigorating everything of the universe. Only realization of mind will unite philosophy and science in their mutual completion, removing the dilemmas of both. Mind is one among the three invisible and subjective phenomena, 1) Unified Force; 2) energy particle; and 3) mind. When the mind is realized the other two can be easily traced. In this treatise, I have united science and philosophy. In reading this book you would have reached the point where you realize yourself to be a nutshell of truth itself.

This is the elevated state of consciousness, where Unified Force is realized to be the ocean, and mind is realized as its wave. Then, where is the ego? It is sublimated from reductionism to holism. It is my heartfelt wish the whole world should come to such a realization; accordingly may all of us moralize our pattern of living which is the true goal of all science and philosophy. I take this opportunity to express my admiration for the world's scientists and adoration of our philosophers for their noble services to humanity, sacrificing their time, I request the philosophers and scientists of the present day to continue the noble services of past generations by clearing the dead ends of both philosophy and science, bringing the Unified Force into the light of knowledge.

May we all be protected and guided by the divine power in all our activities, day and night, in all places. May the world community be blessed with good health, prosperity, wisdom and peace.

Your loving spiritual friend,

-Vethathiri.
